GOOD SAMARITAN
Luke 10: 30-37
A man came down from Jerusalem to Jericho and there he ran into thieves who took his raiment and wounded him leaving him for dead. (Jesus said that we should love our neighbors as ourselves). If the thieves loved as Jesus had said this would not have come to pass.
There is a spirit in us that pulls us in another way. If we don`t fight back. There is a spirit in us that will fight back if we let it but we are the ones that choose. It all begins with, do you love yourself? If you don`t you can`t love your neighbour. It was bad enough to be robbed and beaten but then they left him. Thank God there are some people that have love in their hearts or this man would have died.
There are people that say they love the Lord, but would go to the other side of the road and act like they didn?t see you. They are also the people that tell every one how much they love the Lord, but if they had the love of the Lord in them they would have stop to help. There were two men who were men of God but it took a man that was not at least in their eyes, but he was in God eyes. He took time to help the man. He gave him money and took him to an inn and said that if this is not enough to the Inn Keeper, When I come back I will give you more.
Now this is a man that has the Love of god in his heart. This is the kind of love that our God has for us. It takes a lot more love to give of your time than to give your money. When you give of your time you are helping to heal the wound of lonliness and all other wounds. You can see the joy come back in them. People need this more than all other things. (Jesus said that we should love our neighbour as ourselves) but he did not say that they would love us back.
So I say, give your love to all that will take it and don`t think about getting it back. God can see whats in your heart and that is all that matters. As you Give it will be give to you.
