TESTIMONY

I believe God has called me to a Laymen`s ministry, and in obedience to his call I would like to share with you a part of my Testimony.

As a young boy , I gave my heart to the Lord. In later years I strayed away from the Lord and had no time for God in my life. As an adult I worked at a local diary. One day as I was stacking ice-cream in the walk-in freezer. Someone shut and locked the door on me thinking the room empty. It was 30 degrees below freezing in this locker room. There was a Yale padlock on the door that was fastened by the man who closed the door. I had been in there several minutes before I realized that the door was locked.

In a matter of a few minutes my pants became stiff and my eyelashes had frost on them and my shoes were sticking to the floor. I Had on just regular clothes with no coat. After trying by all human means to get out of the freezer, I turned off the ammonia valve and the blower so that the room would not get any colder. I tried again by kicking the door several times with no success whatever. At this time it occurred to me that I was going to freeze to death. I knelt on the floor And prayed this prayer,”Lord God, if you want me now O.K., but I would really love to see my children grown." I began to fell warm all over, and I knew then that I was freezing as this was the first sign.

I tried kicking the door one more time and this time the door fell open!!! the Yale lock on the door was broken off . This was the beginning of miracles in my life! God showed me my weaknesses and his divine Strength.

That night when I went home, I want to tell my wife, but I scared that she would think I was crazy. But after awhile I did tell her and she did`t think I

was crazy at all but was mad at whoever locked the door. As time passed I got more bold and told others. One day I felt that God want me to send a letter to Fort Knox to the Post Chapel office. We did and they called me and asked me to come and give my testimony on the next Sunday. What a day That was! This was a Lutheran Pastor and I had never been in a Lutheran church before. I didn’t know how they did there services, but I knew that God would be there and it would be O.K.

So after the Pastor was done he called on me. I was a little scared, what I want to say is I was scared a lot. This was the biggest church I had ever been in and everyone in there were in their twenty`s. The devil was working hard on me. I did what I thought was the best thing to do at the time. I prayed first by myself and asked God to help Me, then I started to give my testimony but as I was almost done God give me something new to say and I said it. This is what he told me: “when you look out and see a red flower by itself it is pretty, and so is a white one or a black or a brown one are many other colors, but when you bring them into a bouquet that is when they are the prettiest and this is what God wants of us.

A new bouquet of all his people. Amen and Amen. Then I gave an alter call for anyone that wanted to pray to come on down and they did the whole church! This is not done in a Lutheran church but it was that day.

On my way home I keep on thanking God. I felt like I was 10 foot tall. Thank God for his love and thank God for this good time that he gave me.
